My gorgeous and hilarious little boy Joe, my daft dollop of a rescued ex-racing greyhound Freddie, travelling and exploring new places, reading in bed with a cup of tea, exploring forests, red wine and strong cheese, surprises, large and gaudy jewellery, cooking big meals for people who love food, tickling, tattoos, Mike Leigh films, getting the giggles, laminating things, making lists, being in love, dancing, playing the piano, crosswords, libraries, singing loudly (and badly) in the car, sleeping outside in hammocks, candlelight, plane journeys in the window seat, sleeping on trains, earl grey tea, snowboarding, buying new rugs, reading stories to my son, swimming in the sea at night
Other than spending time with my lovely family and friends, I am at my happiest with a camera in my hand. For years, taking photographs has been my absolute favourite thing to do, so I still have to pinch myself that this is now my job. I bought my first SLR while I was backpacking in Nepal and was hooked! It rarely left my face for the whole time I was travelling and still didn't detach itself when I got home. When people kept suggesting I should do it for a living I went for it. I'd completely fallen in love with it and didn't want to regret never even giving it a go, and I've never looked back.
One of the things I love best about photographs is the effect they can have on you for such a long time... the ones that you can look at hundreds of times and that still make you laugh / smile / well up / gasp every time you look at them years later. These are the sort of photos I always try to grab - those blissful moments of pure beauty, fun, hilarity, excitement and emotion that lift you up and make life so wonderful.
Primarily I work throughout the North West and Midlands, covering amongst other places Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and Merseyside, although I love to work in new locations and am happy to travel to any location, including overseas.
